Well, I finally got to watch Hostel last night with my very brave friend, Diana. Overall I liked the movie, even though it seems that early viewers were making to much of a big deal out of it.

I was expecting realistic, torture, horror that had been unseen before...but that wasn't really the case. I still liked the movie, but they actually cut away most of the time before something was about to happen (toes getting cut off, legs getting drilled, etc.).

It was kind of funny, Hostel had about the same amount of hype that House of 1,000 Corpses had when it came out (about being the most gory movie of the past X amount of years)...I was wondering what they would be like, so I had to see them, but neither turned out to be as disturbing as they were made out to be.

Out of 4, I would probably give it a 2.5 or 2.75...I actually think the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake of a few years ago, or the French horror movie High Tension (ending sucks) are more gory...but I like all 3, so go ahead and watch them and let me know what you think.
