Halloween: Update
I got to see Halloween last night...I thought it was great. I've seen most, but not all of the other Halloweens, but this definitely ranks right along with the first.
I read an interview with Zombie asking him where he considers this movie to be in the timeline of the others. In short, he was saying that it was a "start over" similar to "Batman Begins."
Anyway, he definitely seems to be getting the hang of this directing thing. Each movie has gotten better by leaps and bounds over the last, not that House of 1,000 Corpses was a bad start, just that The Devil's Rejects was better, and now Halloween is better than The Devil's Rejects. You know?
Anyway, I don't think it will be king of the box office again though. I was in the theater with Beth, Diana, and Kellie (from work) and we were the only 4 in the entire theater! I think the wrath of Superbad might come back or 3:10 to Yuma (which also looks hellagood, and no, I don't like Westerns) will knock it back down.
Basically, if you're a fan of horror movies, I would recommend Halloween, if you're not, then I wouldn't :)
I forgot to mention, here are the key elements to a horror movie (in no particular order), and this one had them all:
1. Boobs
2. Violence
3. Sex
