Last night I was at my weekly pool league (apa-raleigh.com) and of course all of the TVs were tuned in to either Comedy Central's Indecision '08, NBC,  or CNN to watch the results of the election as they came in. 

The regulars at this pool hall, I think, represent a good cross-section of NC (or at least Raleigh).  To see the reactions of the election from this group of people was something really amazing to see.  Everyone's eyes were lit up, and you could see big smiles on their faces.  Someone was even nice enough to grace us with Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" on the jukebox.

I don't know how many times I heard people say "This is really amazing" or "This is an important time for America." 

Only time will tell how this all really pans out, but for now, I think people really are ready for the chance to try something different. 

So...it actually turned out to be a good night.  I won my pool match and for the first time, someone I actually voted for won!
